In the ninth episode of Lie to Me's second season, titled "Fold Equity," the behavior analysis team is called to investigate a case of insider trading at a Las Vegas casino. The CEO of the casino, Frank Blackwood, has been accused of using privileged information to make a profitable stock trade, and he needs Lightman and his team to clear his name before the SEC conducts a full investigation.

As Cal and his team interview Blackwood and his associates, they notice several behavioral cues that suggest deceit and a lack of remorse. Meanwhile, the SEC sends Special Agent Reynolds to assist in the investigation, but Cal quickly deduces that Reynolds has his own agenda and is not interested in finding the truth.

As the team navigates the high-stakes world of casino operations, they must contend with a variety of characters, including a talented poker player with a dark past, a savvy financial analyst, and a mysterious woman who seems to have insider knowledge of the casino's business dealings. With time running out and the SEC breathing down their necks, the behavior analysis team must use all of their skills to uncover the truth and clear Blackwood's name.

Throughout the episode, viewers are treated to the usual blend of tense interrogations, clever ruses, and surprising revelations that has become the hallmark of the series. There are several standout scenes, including a showdown between Cal and Reynolds at a blackjack table, and a tense confrontation between Blackwood and his CFO.

As always, the performances are top-notch. Tim Roth is in fine form as the unpredictable Cal, and his scenes with Kelli Williams as his business partner Gillian are as enjoyable as ever. Brendan Hines as Eli Loker provides several moments of comic relief, and Monica Raymund as Ria Torres continues to impress with her sharp observational skills.

Overall, "Fold Equity" is a strong episode that showcases the best aspects of Lie to Me. The case is compelling, the characters are engaging, and the dialogue crackles with wit and intelligence. Fans of the show will not be disappointed, and newcomers may find themselves hooked on the series after watching this episode. So, it is a must-watch episode for the fans of police procedural dramas.
