Inspired by a true story. Conservative magazine journalist Joanna Scott reluctantly takes an assignment to write an in-depth piece on Madame Simone, a French woman famous for her artfully arranged introductions between beautiful, cultured young women and potential husbands. Having just separated from her own spouse, Joanna decides to take a lesson or two in the art of seduction as taught by Madame Simone.
