Ep 10. The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of

Sheriff Walt Longmire and his team are back in action with Longmire season 5 episode 10, titled The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of.

The episode begins with Vic and Travis getting pulled over by a cop for speeding. However, things soon turn complicated when Vic learns that the cop is actually investigating one of her old cases. Meanwhile, Walt and Henry are busy trying to track down a mysterious woman who has been asking around about Malachi. As they delve deeper, they discover that the woman may be connected to a recent robbery in town.

In the midst of all this, Walt is still reeling from his breakup with Donna. However, his personal troubles take a backseat when he's tasked with investigating the death of a sheep herder who was found brutally murdered on his property. As Walt and his team dig into the case, they uncover some strange and unexpected clues that lead them in a new direction.

With so many separate storylines at play, The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of is a busy episode. However, it never feels overstuffed or confusing. The various threads all weave together nicely, creating a cohesive and compelling narrative.

As always, the standout performances come from the show's lead actors. Robert Taylor shines as Walt, managing to convey both the character's stoic strength and his underlying vulnerability. Lou Diamond Phillips is similarly excellent as Henry, infusing his scenes with a subtle sense of humor and humanity.

The rest of the cast is equally impressive, with particular praise going to Katee Sackhoff as Vic and Adam Bartley as Ferg. Sackhoff has always brought a sense of toughness and resilience to her character, but here she's given a chance to show some more vulnerable sides as well. Bartley, meanwhile, brings a sense of bumbling earnestness to Ferg that makes him impossible not to root for.

The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of also features some beautiful cinematography, particularly in the scenes set out in the countryside. The vast Wyoming landscapes are captured in all their stark beauty, providing a fitting backdrop for the show's themes of justice, perseverance, and redemption.
