Lowdown is an Australian television show that originally aired on ABC from 2010 to 2012. The show follows the life of Alex Burchill, a tabloid journalist who is out to score the biggest scoop of his career. Adam Zwar stars as Alex, a man who is known for his tenacity and his ability to ferret out the truth behind the scandals that make headlines.

Joining Alex on his quest for the truth are a number of other characters, including his longtime partner Rita Heywood (Beth Buchanan) and his dear friend Dr. James Sawers (Dailan Evans). Bob Geraghty (Paul Denny) also plays a key role in the show, as he is Alex's boss and the one who is constantly pushing him to get the big story.

What sets Lowdown apart from other shows in the same genre is the fact that it doesn't take itself too seriously. The show is full of humor, and the characters are all incredibly likable. Even when they're doing something questionable, you can't help but root for them. And that's all thanks to the incredible cast of actors who bring these characters to life.

Aside from the main characters, the show also has a few recurring ones. The most notable of these is probably Howard Evans, played by Kim Gyngell. Howard is a news anchor who is Alex's main competition. He's by far the most self-centered character on the show, and yet he's somehow still incredibly likable.

One of the things that really stands out about Lowdown is the writing. The show is incredibly sharp and witty, and the dialogue is always top-notch. It's clear that a lot of thought went into crafting these characters and their relationships with one another. Everything feels very organic and true-to-life, even when the plot takes some pretty wild turns.

Another thing that makes Lowdown stand out is its pacing. The show moves at a breakneck speed, with plot twists and turns coming fast and furious. It's a show that never lets up, and that's part of what makes it so compelling. You're always on the edge of your seat, wondering what's going to happen next.

Finally, we have to talk about Geoffrey Rush's narration. Rush serves as the show's narrator, and his velvety voice is the perfect complement to the action on screen. He delivers lines with gravitas and humor in equal measure, and his interjections are always spot-on.

Overall, Lowdown is a show that's definitely worth checking out. It's a fast-paced, witty, and incredibly funny show that will keep you hooked from beginning to end. Whether you're a fan of journalism dramas or just looking for a good laugh, Lowdown is definitely worth your time.
