Netflix Buys 'Mad Men' Reruns for Streaming Service

Netflix Buys 'Mad Men' Reruns for Streaming Service AMC's hit show "Mad Men" has finally settled its contracts, and the show is  set to run for another three seasons. That makes it pretty enticing for any network that wants to try go buy the rights to air reruns of the show. After all, a set of seven seasons of critically-acclaimed television doesn't come along every day.

Enter Netflix. The rent-by-mail and streaming media service has already starting making moves to stay on top of the market such as acquiring original content like "House of Cards," starring Kevin Spacey. Now, Netflix has secured the rights to stream reruns of every season of "Mad Men." Every single season.

The deal, which reportedly cost Netflix $1 million per episode (for 91 total episodes!), will bring "Mad Men" to Netflix Instant beginning on July 27th.

After the finale of the new (and much-delayed) season airs in 2012, all episodes of that season will be available as well. The deal will continue on that schedule until the series ends after season seven.

So, "Mad Men" fans will have a little something to hold them over until the next season airs. After all, it's going to be a long wait, and you might want to bring yourself back up to speed!
