Makai Senki Disgaea is an anime television series that aired in 2006. It is based on the popular video game series Disgaea and follows the story of Laharl, the prince of the Netherworld. Laharl is awakened from a two-year slumber by his vassal, Etna, who informs him that his father, the previous Netherworld Overlord, has died. Laharl sets out to claim his birthright as the new Overlord, but he quickly learns that he must first prove himself by defeating anyone who opposes him.

Throughout the series, Laharl is joined by a motley crew of characters, including Flonne, an angel who is sent to the Netherworld to assassinate the Overlord but ends up becoming Laharl's ally; Captain Gordon, a space hero who is on a mission to save the universe and mistakenly believes that Laharl is the "Dark Adonis" he has been searching for; and Jennifer, the princess of a human kingdom who is forced to flee her own country.

As Laharl and his companions embark on their journey, they face a variety of challenges, including rival demon lords, power-hungry angels, and intergalactic invaders. Along the way, they also learn valuable lessons about friendship, loyalty, and what it truly means to be a leader.

The show features a diverse cast of characters, each with their own unique personality and backstory. Hironori Miyata provides the voice of Laharl, bringing to life the brash and stubborn demon prince. Tomoe Hanba voices Etna, Laharl's loyal and mischievous vassal, while Tomomichi Nishimura plays the role of Archbishop, a powerful angel who is Laharl's chief rival.

Other notable voice actors in the series include Kaori Mizuhashi as Flonne, Yuko Sasamoto as Jennifer, and Chihiro Suzuki as Captain Gordon. The animation style is colorful and whimsical, with a blend of 2D and 3D animation that gives the show a unique look.

A bratty little girl shows up claiming to be Laharl's sister. Etna, convinced the spoiled girl is a fraud, is bewildered when Laharl starts humoring and protecting his newfound sibling. A little meddling from Mid-boss could shed light on the situation.

Laharl, Flonne and Etna brave treacherous realms of the Netherworld to find the source of all the attacks on the prince's life. Betrayal stings when the truth is revealed, but at the end of the day, Laharl is actually rather impressed.

Befuddled by attacks on his life from demons large and small, Laharl discovers a poster with a price on his head. Captain Gordon and Jennifer are after him too! When he gets stuck in a dungeon, a showdown with a demon slayer is his only escape.
