In this episode of Man v. Food, host Adam Richman travels to New Jersey to take on the food challenges and embrace the local culture. The episode centers around the Rutgers football game against Cincinnati, which serves as the perfect backdrop for Richman's culinary adventures.

Richman begins his journey at the famous Rutt's Hut, a hot dog joint in Clifton, New Jersey that has been serving loyal customers since 1928. Richman tackles the triple-layered slider challenge, which consists of three sliders stacked with onions, relish, and mustard. To conquer the challenge, Richman must eat 12 sliders in 20 minutes. With each slider stuffed to the brim with flavorful toppings, the time limit proves to be a tough obstacle for Richman.

Next, Richman travels to Donkey's Place, a local favorite in Camden known for their cheesesteaks. Donkey's Place prides itself on being unique and standing out from other cheesesteak establishments. Their secret ingredient is their poppyseed kaiser rolls, which give their cheesesteaks an added crunch and texture. Richman tackles their massive Philly-style cheesesteak, piled high with tender meat and melted cheese. The sandwich is so big that it needs to be wrapped in two separate packages. Richman takes on the challenge and shows off his impressive appetite.

Richman then heads to Princeton, New Jersey, where he tries a slice of the famous tomato pie at De Lorenzo's Tomato Pies. This pizzeria has been a staple in Princeton since 1947, and their tomato pie is a must-try for any pizza lover. The pie is topped with a tangy tomato sauce and grated romano cheese, unlike traditional pizza where the cheese sits on top. Richman enjoys the unique flavor profile of the tomato pie and even tries to replicate it at home.

The final stop on Richman's Jersey food tour is the Rutgers football game tailgate party. Richman joins the Rutgers fans for a pre-game feast of grilled sausages, burgers, and hot dogs. He also tries a local favorite, the "Fat Cat" sandwich, which consists of two pork roll patties, a cheese omelet, and a cheeseburger in between two slices of bread. Richman is impressed by the sheer size and flavor of the sandwich and is grateful to have been able to experience the local football culture.

Overall, this episode of Man v. Food showcases the best of New Jersey's unique food scene and culture. With Richman's enthusiasm for trying new foods and experiencing local traditions, viewers are able to gain a deeper appreciation for the Jersey way of life.
