Ep 2. The Song Remains the Same

Allison Dubois is a psychic medium who works for the Phoenix District Attorney's office, using her abilities to solve crimes and help bring peace to the families of victims. In season 2 episode 2 of the show Medium, titled "The Song Remains the Same," Allison finds herself faced with a particularly difficult case when a teenage girl goes missing.

The episode begins with Allison dreaming of her daughter, Ariel, playing a piano. When Allison wakes up, she realizes that the piano music she heard in her dream is still playing, and she follows the sound to Ariel's room. As Allison delves deeper into the case, she begins to have more strange dreams and visions. She dreams of Jessica walking around a dark, foggy highway, and sees a car with a broken taillight driving by. She also has visions of a man in a gray hoodie who seems to be watching her.

Allison believes that the man in the hoodie is somehow connected to Jessica's disappearance, so she and Joe set out to find him. They soon discover that the man is a private investigator named Ed Scanlon, who has been hired by Jessica's family to find her. Ed tells Allison and Joe that he believes Jessica ran away from home, and that her parents are not being entirely truthful with the police.

Allison and Joe continue to investigate, and they eventually track down Jessica at a motel on the outskirts of town. Jessica tells them that she ran away because she was having problems with her family, and that she didn't want to be found. Allison empathizes with Jessica, but she knows that running away won't solve anything, and she convinces Jessica to return to her family.

In the end, Allison and Joe are able to solve the case, but not without learning some important lessons about family, trust, and the power of music. As the episode comes to a close, Allison sits down with Ariel at the piano and begins to play the same song that was stuck in her daughter's head. It's a beautiful moment that highlights the emotional depth and complexity of the show, as well as the power of Allison's psychic abilities to offer healing and closure to those who need it most.
