Medium is an American supernatural crime drama television series that aired on CBS from 2005 to 2011. The show stars Patricia Arquette as Allison Dubois, a psychic who serves as a consultant to the Phoenix District Attorney's Office, using her psychic abilities to help solve crimes.

Allison is a wife and mother of three who has the ability to see dead people, communicate with spirits, and predict events before they happen. Her husband, Joe Dubois (Jake Weber), is an aerospace engineer who is often at odds with Allison’s psychic abilities. Their children, Ariel (Sofia Vassilieva), Bridgette (Maria Lark), and Marie (Kerris Dorsey), also have psychic abilities.

The show follows Allison as she helps law enforcement agencies solve complex crimes by using her psychic abilities. She often communicates with the spirits of murder victims, who guide her to find the killer. Along with her husband, Joe, she also navigates family life and the challenges that come with raising three children with psychic abilities.

Law enforcement officials, including district attorneys Manuel Devalos (Miguel Sandoval) and Cynthia Keener (Anjelica Huston), often turn to Allison for help with their most perplexing cases. Allison's friend and colleague, D.A. Devalos' lawyer, Devalos also serves as her mentor and confidant, advising her on using her gift to help others while protecting her own family.

The show is primarily set in Phoenix, Arizona and often shows the city's beautiful landscapes, creating a picturesque backdrop for an otherwise dark and suspenseful show. Each episode is suspenseful, and viewers are often left on the edge of their seats, wondering if Allison will be able to help solve the case with her psychic abilities.

Allison's psychic gift, while often helpful, often puts her in danger. She is kidnapped, attacked, and even nearly killed in the line of duty. Her psychic abilities also put a strain on her marriage and relationship with her children.

The show does an excellent job of exploring the psychological toll that psychic abilities have on Allison and her family. Her husband, Joe, is often reluctant to accept her gift, and her children struggle with their own abilities.

The supporting cast of the show is also notable. Joe is a devoted husband and father who tries to support Allison despite his skepticism. Devalos and Keener provide a backdrop of legal drama, adding to the show's authenticity. Ariel, Bridgette, and Marie are all unique in their gifts and add depth to the family dynamic.

Overall, Medium is an excellent mix of supernatural and crime drama that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats while exploring the challenges of family, motherhood, and psychic abilities. The talented cast and exceptional writing make for a gripping and enjoyable viewing experience that keeps viewers coming back for more.

Medium is a series that is currently running and has 7 seasons (133 episodes). The series first aired on January 3, 2005.
