[Title]: Friends and Lovers
[Synopsis]: In the second episode of Melrose Place (1992) season 1, the residents of the titular Los Angeles apartment complex struggle with their own personal relationships and romantic entanglements.
Allison Parker (Courteney Thorne-Smith) finds herself drawn to her neighbor Billy Campbell (Andrew Shue) despite her reservations about getting involved with a fellow tenant. Meanwhile, Jake Hanson (Grant Show) tries to rekindle his relationship with his ex-girlfriend, who is hesitant to take him back after his affair with married woman Amanda Woodward (Heather Locklear).
As tensions rise between the two women, Amanda also faces her own romantic troubles when her husband, Michael Mancini (Thomas Calabro), discovers her affair with Jake and threatens to leave her.
Elsewhere, Kelly Rutherford's character, Melrose Place resident and struggling actress Megan Lewis, tries to impress a casting director by pretending to be a wealthy socialite, but her ruse quickly falls apart when she discovers that the director is only interested in sleeping with her.
Finally, Jane Mancini (Josie Bissett) struggles with her attraction to her boss, who happens to be Michael's best friend and business partner.
Through it all, the residents of Melrose Place navigate the complicated and often tumultuous world of love and dating, with many secrets yet to be revealed.
