Ep 1. Arthur's Bane, Pt. 1

Arthur's Bane, Pt. 1 is the first episode of the fifth season of the television show, Merlin. The episode starts with Camelot preparing for war with Queen Morgana, who has returned with a powerful army of Saxons. Meanwhile, Merlin has a vision of a dark and dangerous future for King Arthur and himself. He sees a young Druid boy, Mordred, and an ancient prophecy that predicts the downfall of Arthur at the hands of someone close to him.

He sees their fates intertwined, and hopes to help Mordred see that there is another way to achieve peace.

As Merlin, Gaius, and Mordred continue on their journey, they come across a mysterious and powerful weapon – the first of the five treasures of Albion. However, they soon realize that Morgana's men are also after the weapon and must escape before they are caught.

Back in Camelot, Arthur and his men face a fierce battle against the Saxons. The fighting is intense, with many casualties on both sides. Just when things seem hopeless, Merlin arrives with Mordred. With his help, they manage to turn the tide of the battle and defeat the Saxons. However, things are far from over, as Merlin's vision continues to haunt him. He knows that Arthur's safety is not yet guaranteed.

The episode ends with Merlin realizing that Morgana has found the location of the first treasure and is on her way to retrieve it. He knows that he and Mordred must make a daring attempt to retrieve the weapon before she does, all while avoiding Morgana's wrath.

Arthur's Bane, Pt. 1 sets up the plot for the rest of the season, with the tension and stakes at an all-time high. The episode features stunning visuals and intense action sequences, all while delivering a powerful narrative about the bonds of friendship, the struggle for power, and the inevitability of destiny.
