Michael Palin's "Around the World in 80 Days" is a travel documentary series that follows the adventures of former Monty Python member Michael Palin as he attempts to circumnavigate the globe in 80 days. Season 1 episode 7, titled "Dateline to Deadline," sees Palin travelling from Honolulu, Hawaii to San Francisco, California.

Palin's journey begins in Honolulu, where he visits the famous Waikiki Beach and learns how to surf. He also meets with locals to learn about Hawaiian culture and cuisine.

From Hawaii, Palin embarks on a long flight to San Francisco. On the plane, he reflects on his travels so far and muses on the prospect of reaching his deadline. Once he arrives in San Francisco, he heads straight to his hotel to get some much-needed rest after his journey.

The next day, Palin explores San Francisco, visiting the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island. He also gets a taste of the local cuisine, including the famous clam chowder served in a sourdough bread bowl.

As his deadline approaches, Palin starts to feel the pressure mounting. He is worried about whether he will make it back to London on time and begins to contemplate the possibility of failing his challenge.

Despite the pressure, Palin soldiers on, travelling to Los Angeles and then New York City. Along the way, he meets interesting people and experiences all sorts of unexpected adventures.

As the end of his journey draws near, Palin becomes increasingly anxious. He knows that he is cutting it close and that any delay could ruin his chances of success.

Finally, after 80 days of non-stop travelling, Palin arrives back in London. He is exhausted but elated at having completed his challenge. The series ends with Palin reflecting on his amazing journey and the lessons he has learned along the way.
