Melissa McCarthy Planning New CBS Show, Post Emmy Win

Melissa McCarthy Planning New CBS Show, Post Emmy Win What's the best way to celebrate your first Emmy win? How about developing a new show?

That's what "Mike & Molly" star Melissa McCarthy is doing following her win for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series at Sunday night's Emmy Awards. McCarthy won in an upset over her fellow nominees in a memorable moment that had all of the nominated women on stage together in a mock beauty pageant, with McCarthy giving her speech with a tiara and a bouquet of roses in hand.

Now, McCarthy is reportedly developing a new comedy series for CBS, where "Mike & Molly" is currently airing. The show will be a multi-cam sitcom that centers on McCarthy as she plays a woman who reinvents her life as she passes through a midlife crisis.

This has been a huge year for McCarthy: she also had a breakthrough performance in the sleeper hit "Bridesmaids." In fact, it may have been her performance in that movie and the buzz that followed that got her the nomination and win. McCarthy even stood in with Joshua Jackson and announced the nominees.

So, does that mean that if they finally give the award to Amy Poehler next year, she'll get to make another show? Because I'd like to see that happen, please.
