Monday Mornings is a dramatic medical TV series created by David Kelley and based on a Sanjay Gupta novel of the same name. The series follows the professional and personal lives of five young attending surgeons who are working at Chelsea General Hospital in Portland, Oregon.
The attending surgeons are led by their trauma chief Dr. Jorge Villanueva (Ving Rhames). Dr. Villanueva is tough on the attending physicians he works with, but does so with the hopes that it will make them better surgeons when they are done with their attending rotations. Dr. Buck Tierney (Bill Irwin) works as the hospital's transplant chief and has direct contact with the attending physicians featured in the series. Due to their familiar working relationship, Dr. Tierney and Dr. Villanueva often work with the attending physicians together.
While the attending physicians share some professional backgrounds, they are very different in their personal relationships and expectations. The attending physicians featured on the series include three attending neurosurgeons Dr. Tyler Wilson (Jamie Bamber), Dr. Tina Ridgeway (Jennifer Finnigan) and Dr. Sung Park (Keong Sim). The cast also features an attending cardiovascular surgeon, Dr. Sydney Napier (Sarayu Rao), and a resident neurosurgical surgeon, Michelle Robidaux (Emily Swallow).
Since Chelsea General Hospital is a trauma hospital, the attending physicians are often put in life or death situations, which means they have to be very careful to keep their personal and professional lives separate. Other actors who routinely appear on the series include Ewan Chung, Mason Cook, Jonathan Silverman, Jason Gray-Stanford, Kenneth Mitchell and Adam Rose.
Monday Mornings is a series that is currently running and has 1 seasons (12 episodes). The series first aired on February 4, 2013.
