Monday Night Football Season 29 Episode 3 Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants

  • September 21, 1998

In the third episode of the 29th season of Monday Night Football, fans will be treated to a classic NFC East matchup as the Dallas Cowboys travel to New York to take on the Giants at MetLife Stadium.

Both teams come into the game with something to prove, as the Cowboys look to rebound from a disappointing loss to the Atlanta Falcons and the Giants hope to build on a hard-fought victory over the Washington Football Team.

The Cowboys will be led by quarterback Dak Prescott, who has been on a tear to start the season, throwing for nearly 1,200 yards and nine touchdowns in just three games. He'll look to continue his hot streak against a Giants defense that has struggled at times this season, allowing an average of 25 points per game.

One of Prescott's favorite targets this season has been wide receiver Amari Cooper, who has already racked up 401 receiving yards and two touchdowns in just three games. Cooper will be matched up against a Giants secondary that has been banged up in recent weeks, with cornerback James Bradberry nursing a groin injury.

Defensively, the Cowboys will look to bounce back after surrendering 39 points to the Falcons last week. They'll be up against a Giants offense that has struggled to find consistency this season, averaging just 12 points per game over their first three contests.

Giants quarterback Daniel Jones will be looking to build on a solid performance last week, in which he threw for 249 yards and a touchdown. He'll have his work cut out for him against a Cowboys defense that features playmakers like DeMarcus Lawrence and Everson Griffen.

The Giants will also be hoping for another strong showing from running back Devonta Freeman, who rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown in his Giants debut last week. Freeman will face a tough challenge against a Cowboys defense that has been stout against the run this season, allowing just 93.7 rushing yards per game.

As always, fans can expect a raucous atmosphere at MetLife Stadium, with both sets of fans eagerly anticipating this divisional clash. With so much on the line, this promises to be a game filled with big plays, hard hits, and plenty of drama.

So, grab some snacks, settle in, and get ready for another exciting installment of Monday Night Football!
