Monday Night Football Season 33 Episode 11 Oakland Raiders at Denver Broncos
- November 11, 2002
The 33rd season of Monday Night Football has brought some exciting matchups to the gridiron. In this 11th episode of season 33, we'll be treated to a classic AFC West rivalry game when the Oakland Raiders travel to Denver to take on the Broncos.
The Raiders come into the game with a 6-4 record, good for second place in the division behind the 7-3 Kansas City Chiefs. Led by quarterback Derek Carr, the Raiders offense has been impressive this season, ranking 9th in points scored per game and 8th in total yards per game. Carr has a solid group of weapons at his disposal, including running back Josh Jacobs and a trio of talented wide receivers in Amari Cooper, Michael Crabtree, and Seth Roberts.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Raiders have struggled at times, ranking near the bottom of the league in points allowed per game. However, they have shown flashes of brilliance, particularly in the pass rush where they rank in the top 10 in sacks. Defensive end Khalil Mack is the undisputed leader of the defense, but cornerback Sean Smith and safety Reggie Nelson are also key contributors.
The Broncos, meanwhile, are having a disappointing season after winning the Super Bowl just two years ago. They come into the game with a 3-7 record and have struggled on both offense and defense. Quarterback Trevor Siemian has been inconsistent at best, and the running game has been non-existent. On defense, the Broncos have been surprisingly porous, particularly against the run where they rank near the bottom of the league in yards allowed per game.
Despite their struggles, the Broncos still have some talented players. Wide receiver Demaryius Thomas and tight end Virgil Green can still make big plays in the passing game, and the defense is loaded with playmakers like linebacker Von Miller and cornerback Aqib Talib.
When these two teams meet, anything can happen. The Raiders/Broncos rivalry is one of the most heated in the NFL, and you can expect both teams to come out fired up and ready to play. Will the Raiders offense be too much for the Broncos to handle? Or will the Broncos defense be able to shut down Carr and company and get their struggling offense back on track? Tune in to Monday Night Football season 33 episode 11 to find out!
