Monday Night Football Season 35 Episode 3 Minnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles

  • September 20, 2004

On this episode of Monday Night Football, we will see the Minnesota Vikings take on the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. This game marks a crucial moment for both teams early in the season.

The Minnesota Vikings come into this game with a record of 1-1. After a Week 1 victory against the Atlanta Falcons, the Vikings fell short to the Green Bay Packers in Week 2. Quarterback Kirk Cousins will look to bounce back from a poor showing against the Packers, where he threw two interceptions. He will need to rely on his receivers Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson to generate some offense against a tough Eagles defense. On the defensive side of the ball, the Vikings will look to put pressure on Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. If they can limit his mobility and force him into making bad decisions, they may have a chance to come away with a win.

The Philadelphia Eagles also come into the game with a record of 1-1. After a Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the Eagles bounced back against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2. Quarterback Jalen Hurts showed off his dual-threat abilities, throwing for over 260 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for over 80 yards. He will look to continue his hot streak against a Vikings defense that has struggled against the pass early on. On the defensive side of the ball, the Eagles will need to slow down the Vikings' running game. If they can make the Vikings one-dimensional, they may be able to force Cousins into making mistakes.

This game has the potential to be a high-scoring affair, with two offenses that can put points on the board quickly. The key for both teams will be their defenses. Whichever team can make the timely stop or force the timely turnover may come away with the win.
