Mork and Mindy is an American television sitcom that aired on CBS from 1978 to 1982. The show was created by Garry Marshall and Dale McRaven and starred Robin Williams as Mork, a quirky and lovable alien from the planet Ork, who is sent to Earth to observe human behavior and report back to his superiors.

Mork lands in Boulder, Colorado, where he meets Mindy McConnell, played by Pam Dawber, who becomes his friend and later his love interest. Mindy is a sweet and down-to-earth young woman who works as a clerk at a music store and takes Mork in after he reveals his true identity to her. The two quickly become roommates and Mork embarks on a series of misadventures as he tries to understand human customs and culture.

Mork and Mindy's bond is strengthened by their intense emotional connection, which allows Mork to access Mindy's thoughts and feelings. The show explores themes of friendship, love, and the struggle to fit in, as Mork tries to adapt to life on Earth and find his place in society. Despite their differences, Mork and Mindy are able to understand and support each other in ways that transcend their alien and human identities.

Conrad Janis plays Mindy's father, Fred, who is initially suspicious of Mork's odd behavior but eventually comes to accept him as a member of the family. Elizabeth Kerr and Gina Hecht play Mindy's grandmother and best friend, respectively, who also provide comic relief and emotional support for the main characters.

Jay Thomas joins the cast in the second season as Remo DaVinci, Mindy's sarcastic ex-boyfriend who becomes Mork's best friend and confidante. Jonathan Winters plays Mork's hilarious and eccentric mentor, and Ralph James provides the voice of Orson, Mork's superior on Ork who communicates with him through an egg-shaped device called the Orkan.

Shelley Fabares and Tom Poston make guest appearances as Mindy's sister Susan and her husband, respectively, while Chris Diamantopoulos appears in the final season as Mearth, Mork and Mindy's son who is born fully grown and with superhuman abilities.

Mork and Mindy is known for its zany humor, rapid-fire one-liners, and Robin Williams' improvisational skills, which allowed him to ad-lib many of his lines and create unforgettable moments of comedy. The show also had a deep emotional resonance, as Mork's struggles to fit in and find love mirrored the experiences of many viewers who felt like outsiders in their own lives.

Mork and Mindy was a critical and commercial success during its run, and remains a beloved classic of 70's sitcoms. It gave Robin Williams his breakout role and launched his career as one of the most iconic comedic actors of his generation. The show's legacy continues to inspire and entertain audiences today and reminds us of the power of friendship, love, and the need to connect with others in a rapidly changing world.

Mork and Mindy is a series that is currently running and has 4 seasons (58 episodes). The series first aired on September 21, 1978.
