Ep 6. Working It

In My Wife and Kids season 1 episode 6, titled "Working It," Michael Kyle is determined to teach his family about the value of hard work. When he realizes that his children are taking their privileged lifestyle for granted, he decides to teach them a lesson by getting them jobs.

First up is Junior, who begins working at a fast food restaurant. Despite feeling embarrassed about working in the kitchen, Junior quickly learns the importance of taking pride in one's work. He also learns about the harsh realities of the working world, including rude customers and difficult bosses.

Meanwhile, Claire gets a job as a babysitter for a wealthy family in the neighborhood. She's excited about the prospect of earning her own money, but quickly realizes that she's not cut out for the job when the baby won't stop crying and the parents are in no hurry to come home.

Kady, the youngest of the Kyle children, also gets a job - although hers is more of a volunteer position at a retirement home. She spends her days playing games with the residents and listening to their stories, and quickly becomes a favorite among the elderly residents.

Throughout the episode, Michael struggles to balance his own job as a contractor with helping his kids navigate the working world. He also has to deal with the fallout when one of his clients finds out that he's been using his daughter as a babysitter instead of working on the job.

As the episode draws to a close, the Kyle family learns some valuable lessons about the importance of hard work and the realities of the working world. They also learn that there's no shame in starting at the bottom and working their way up.
