After the bombshell revelation from the previous episode, "Someday You'll Call My Name" opens up with Rayna worrying about her public image as she hits the studio along with Scarlett to record a charity single. The Queen of Country music can’t help but feel like she’s being judged by the whole city for her recent split with Teddy. Meanwhile, Juliette has to face the consequences of sleeping with a married man, leading to criticism from her mother and peers, a situation that’s further complicated when she meets an NFL quarterback.

As Rayna makes her way to her child's school to sign release forms, she comes across Liam, a famous music producer. He expresses his admiration for her work and offers to record some new songs for her. However, this offer is met with suspicion and scrutiny from her label as they have a list of famous artists lined up for his production work, creating a tense dynamic within the business side of the industry.

Backstage at a major concert sponsored by the label, Scarlett is seen struggling with stage fright, causing her to freeze when she is pulled up to sing with some A-listers. Gunnar steps in to save the day, and the two embark on a duet that quickly becomes the talk of the town.

Meanwhile, Deacon is grappling with the choices he has made and becomes intent on fixing his relationship with Rayna, finally calling her. At the same time, Teddy tries to control the narrative of his split with Rayna by jumping on an interview with a conservative radio host, much to her confusion and anger.

The crux of the episode is the final scene, a performance at a famous Ryman Auditorium by Rayna and Deacon. The audience is left utterly spellbound by their sultry chemistry and spine-tingling vocals while everyone in the auditorium roots for their relationship- something that is a delight to watch.

Overall, "Someday You'll Call My Name" firmly establishes that the show is more than just a country drama, capable of tackling the more profound issues of relationships, country music, fame, race, and the overall industry. The episode also showcases Nashville's love affair with music, which is to be expected given the fact that it’s a show dedicated to the genre. The drama, the music, the storytelling, and the setting all come together to make for a scintillating episode that leaves the audience eager for more.
