Ep 10. House Rules

In NCIS season 12 episode 10, entitled "House Rules," the team investigates the murder of a Navy engineer who was developing a high-tech device capable of detecting mines in the ocean. The device was about to be deployed to a dangerous area and there are concerns that the killer might be trying to steal it. In addition, the team suspects that there could be a connection between the murder and a betting ring that is run by a Navy officer. They also suspect that the engineer's wife, who has been acting suspiciously, might have had a hand in her husband's death.

As the investigation progresses, the team discovers that the Navy officer who runs the betting ring has ties to organized crime and that the murdered engineer had a secret project that he was working on that could have made him a lot of money. They also learn that the engineer's wife, who was having an affair, had access to the device and might have stolen it.

Meanwhile, Gibbs comes to the aid of an old friend, retired Navy Captain Phillip Brooks, who is being investigated for embezzlement. Brooks claims he is innocent and asks Gibbs to help him clear his name. Gibbs initially declines but eventually takes on the case when he learns that the investigation is being led by a prosecutor who has a personal vendetta against Brooks.

As the investigation into the Navy engineer's murder heats up and Brooks's case becomes more complicated, the team struggles to keep up with both cases as tensions rise and danger looms.

In the end, the team is forced to make some tough decisions as they try to bring the killer to justice and save lives in the process. The episode ends with a twist that no one saw coming and will leave viewers on the edge of their seats.
