Ep 2. Kill The Messenger

In the twelfth season of the popular crime show NCIS, episode two titled "Kill the Messenger" follows a similar action-packed plot with a wealth of robust characters and a fascinating storyline. The episode opens with a gruesome murder of an important Navy officer, Captain Dean Hadlow, who used to be a crucial part of the Navy's legal team. The team receives news of the murder and sets out to investigate the crime, with the lead investigative protagonist, Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, getting on top of the case.

Gibbs and his team find themselves delving into the dark world of military law, where they come across many secrets such as bribery, corruption, and other nefarious activities taking place within the Navy. The case quickly takes a complex turn as the data in the case leads the team to a corrupt judge and a secret court that deals with illegal activities happening amongst Navy personnel. Meanwhile, things seem to be getting more personal as Abby Sciuto, the team's forensic expert gets a death threat.

The episode moves forward with the team gathering evidence and using their unique skills to trace the killer's whereabouts. They face many obstacles, assassination attempts on the investigation team and further complicating the case. Agent Gibbs temporarily loses his lead suspect in a thrilling rooftop pursuit scene — but eventually detains this person for questioning.

The actors portraying the individuals in this episode give stellar performances that make the viewer want to learn more about the characters and what has transpired in their lives until this point. The episode's conclusion is an incredible scene as Gibbs, and his team confronts the wrongdoer and put an end to the dangers lurking within the Navy's legal team.

The show does an excellent job at teasing the next episode with hints about the storyline to keep viewers intrigued each week. NCIS's season 12 "Kill the Messenger" is a well-crafted crime-drama, with a fast-paced plot, robust characters, and suspenseful scenarios that keep the audience on the edge of their seats from minute to minute.
