Ep 12. Off the Grid

After solving a case that found them working with MI6, the NCIS team is back in the United States and working on a new case in the 12th episode of NCIS season 14 titled Off the Grid. The episode opens with a young woman named Alexa, who is working with a non-profit organization based in Central America that is focused on saving endangered sea turtles on a remote beach. When Alexa goes missing, NCIS becomes involved in the investigation.

NCIS discovers that Alexa's disappearance might be connected to Vice Admiral Dean Willis (played by Colin Hanks), who was once involved in the mission to capture Osama bin Laden. The evidence narrows down to a particular Navy SEAL team that was operating in the area, leading to an intense internal investigation. Recognizing the high stakes associated with this case, Agent Gibb's team is immediately dispatched to find the missing young woman.

As the team begins their investigation, they realize that Alexa may have had more than just eco-activist motivations for being in Central America. She was in fact, working as an undercover agent for the CIA. The investigation takes the NCIS team on a wild, globe-trotting adventure as they follow leads that take them to different countries, not knowing who they can trust.

Along the way, the team is assigned a new addition, MI6 Agent Clayton Reeves (played by Duane Henry), who is tasked with assisting the team in their investigation. Reeves is a welcome addition to the team, and his British charm makes for an interesting contrast with Gibbs' no-nonsense approach.

The investigation turns into a race against time as NCIS tries to find Alexa and bring her home safely, while also working to uncover the truth about the Navy SEALs and their potentially dangerous mission. The stakes get higher as the episode progresses, and the NCIS team finds themselves in dangerous situations.

The episode also explores the personal lives of some NCIS characters. Bishop is dealing with her divorce, and her ex-husband surprises her by showing up unannounced. Meanwhile, Torres is trying to adjust to life as a part of the NCIS team and dealing with some personal demons of his own.

As the investigation progresses, several twists and turns make the case much more complex than initially thought, with Alexa's involvement taking on a new meaning. The team is eventually forced to go off the grid in order to solve the case and bring all parties to justice.

NCIS fans will appreciate the return of the beloved team, as well as the new addition of Agent Clayton Reeves. Off the Grid is a classic NCIS episode, full of suspense, action, and unexpected plot twists. It's an enjoyable and thrilling ride from start to finish.
