The Emmy award-winning show NCIS, or Naval Criminal Investigative Service, is a crime drama that revolves around the fictional team of special agents working for the investigative agency, based in Washington, D.C. NCIS is the second-longest-running scripted drama on U.S. television, with viewership in the tens of millions per episode. Season 2, episode 24, titled "Twilight," is another thrilling addition to the show.

The episode starts with the team returning to work after the Memorial Day weekend. Gibbs (Mark Harmon), Tony (Michael Weatherly), and Kate (Sasha Alexander) are investigating the murder of a petty officer. They discover that the victim, Petty Officer Paul Finch, was involved in a drug deal - which might have been the reason for his death. After interviewing his colleagues and girlfriend, the team catches a break when they discover that Finch had access to advanced technology that could have been used for intercepting radio transmission.

Meanwhile, Abby (Pauley Perrette) proves to be instrumental as usual. She helps the team in finding a connection between Finch's murder and the assassination of a Middle Eastern diplomat two months ago, which was the focus of an earlier episode in the season. It turns out that the technology found in Finch's possession was stolen from the U.S. Navy and was used in the assassination of the diplomat.

As the team follows the clues in the investigation, they discover evidence of a major terrorist plot in the making. Gibbs realizes that the terrorists are planning to use the technology to intercept communications and launch a surprise attack on the U.S. military bases. The stakes are high and the clock is ticking, as the team has to act fast to stop the terrorists before they could launch their attack.

The team gets a lead that takes them to an airplane hangar where they discover the terrorists loading the equipment onto a cargo plane. Gibbs, Tony, and Kate attempt to apprehend the terrorists, but their operation is foiled, causing some casualties. In the meantime, McGee (Sean Murray) and Abby work to find a way to disarm the technology remotely.

In the final action-packed sequence, the team successfully nullifies the terrorist threat with the help of the Marine Corps helicopters and a hail of gunfire. They prevent the technology from falling into the wrong hands and apprehend the remaining terrorists. The episode ends with the team back at the NCIS offices, with the sense of relief that they have successfully thwarted the terrorist plot.

"Twilight" is a highly energetic and thrilling episode of NCIS. It keeps the audiences on the edge of their seats until the very end. The show combines fast-paced action with intricate and intelligent detective work, keeping viewers captivated from beginning to end. The chemistry between the ensemble cast works well, with each actor bringing their unique blend of humor and gravitas, making the show a delight to watch.

Overall, NCIS season 2 episode 24 is a must-watch for anyone who loves crime dramas, action, suspense, and excellent storytelling. It is filled with twists and turns, keeping viewers guessing until the very end. Even if you haven't seen the rest of the series, this episode stands alone as a great example of what NCIS is all about.
