This is an animated series that is based on the movie of the same name. The series only aired for one season from 1995-96. There are a few differences between the television show and the movie. A 12-year-old boy has somehow lost the imagination that he once had as a child. He grew older, as children do, and doesn't seem to want to play as much as he did or think about the comical aspects of life.

The young boy finds a book in a store, and the fantasies begin as he reads chapter after chapter. He starts a battle against the Nothing after creating a fantasy world called Fantasia. Some of his problems that he deals with in the real world are brought into play as he enters his fantasy life. He finds a magical way to deal with his issues in relation to the overtaking of his fantasy world.

Neverending Story is a series that is currently running and has 2 seasons (26 episodes). The series first aired on December 2, 1995.

Everyone in Fantasia is participating in The Race including Gluckuck on his racing Snail, Mr. Rockchewer on his stone bicycle, Engywook on his Kitzblitz Flying Machine, and Night Hob aboard his sleepy bat Thessle. Bastian joins the race with Barktroll, who has chosen the slowest, oldest mount in Fantasia. The fun and games turns to ruthless sabotage when Shadow Goblin and Vermin enter the race, slowly eliminating each and every contestant using every dirty trick in the book in the hopes of claiming the grand prize for themselves. Its a fierce RACE to the finish...where everyone plays to WIN!
The Atonal Trolls

When the shrieking Atonal Trolls abandon their homeland, the Mountains of Harmony, and head towards the Ivory Tower, they threaten its very existence with the decibel level of their shrieking voices. Its Bastian and friends who travel to the mountain discovering an ancient Temple. Once inside, they discover that the temple is one large, very old, very complicated musical instrument that is out of tune. With the clock racing against them, our heroes must find a way to tune the instrument before the Trolls destroy the tower. Through the miracle of music and teamwork, our story ends on a good note.

When Xayide craftily invents a mirror that reflects the opposite of whoever looks into it, Bastian is duped into creating a twin image of himself... an evil twin, who will do Xayides bidding. The evil Bastians first task is to deliver a gift to the Childlike Empress, a wicked spell that will send her off into an eternal slumber. However, what Xayide doesnt realize is that she unwittingly created a good Xayide as well as an evil Bastian...and now its up to the good guys to stop their bad twin counterparts from destroying Fantasia.

Bastian arrives in Fantasia hoping to find the perfect gift idea for Fathers Day. When all his friends' suggestions fall short of perfect, it is Night Hob who suggests that Bastian search for the lost painting of Moldymoor; supposedly the most beautiful thing in Fantasia. Determined to settle for nothing less, Bastian travels through the Sea of Mist and meets a friendly sea horse who helps Bastian search for the rare painting. What Bastian and his new friend do not realize is that the Shadow Goblin and Vermin have heard about his expedition and are following them in an effort to steal the painting for themselves. When the lost painting of Moldymoor is actually found, everyone is in for a GIANT surprise!

When Xayide misuses a stolen recipe book of Urgls to concoct a spell, it only backfires and sends her into a deep sleeping trance. It inadvertently creates an evil black cloud called the Night Breath, whose destiny is to sweep across the land and cloak the world in total darkness! Bastian quickly teams up with Falkor and the Mighty Wind Giants, trying to put a stop to it, while Urgl and Engywook rush over to Horok Castle, trying to reverse Xayides sleeping trance. Time is running out...and soon Fantasia will become a victim of the Everlasting Night!

When Engywook takes the egg of a Llorp, mistaking it for the crystal key to the Vault of Wisdom, he travels on an expedition to the Land of Cold Fire to obtain all the knowledge he can. When Bastian and Falkor find the Mother Llorp crawling along the Desert of Goab on a search for her egg, they know Urgl is the only one who can help. Luckily for Bastian, its Urgl who solves the mystery of the wandering Llorp, realizing Engywook has stolen her egg. Now its up to Bastian and Falkor to frantically race against time, traveling to the wintery landscape to find Engywook and stop him before he crashes it!

Bastian arrives in Fantasia to see the world and all his friends slowly winding down into a world of suspended animation. It is not until two strange Owls grab Bastian and transport him to the Star Cloister where the Three Great Thinkers reside that Bastian finds out what is wrong. The Silver Clock of Amarganth has fallen into the Lake of Tears and its winding mechanism is slowing down, and with it, so is time. Bastian must wind the Clock. There are two dangers: the lake is highly potent acid, and Bastians only hope of penetrating it is through the help of his most powerful enemy -- Xayide!

When Bastian arrives in Fantasia, he is surprised to discover everyones dreams have come true. Gluckuck, is ten feel tall. The Rockchewers are small. Barktroll has a beautiful head of full foliage. Engywooks is a genius. Even Three Head has his dream come true; with three Xayide servants to do his bidding. Its not until the dreams get out of hand that Bastian realizes the whole mess was triggered by the Sorceress interference with the Dreaming Fields. Its up to Bastian and Falkor to set things right before everyones dreams turn into nightmares!
After The Falls

When Barktrolls crush on a beautiful tree named Willow is challenged by a brute named Ash, its Bastian who convinces Barktroll to accept Ashs challenge to log roll on Splinter Falls. Its not until Bastian sees the threatening panorama of Splinter Falls (and Ashs intense workout) that Bastian worries he might have put Barktrolls safety in jeopardy. In the end, Bastian learns the hard way that making friends with your enemies is the best revenge.

When the Gnomic Forest is experiencing a devastating drought, Engywook doubles his efforts to build a Rain-Making Machine. When an overzealous Bastian tries to help Engywook, he only ends up getting in the way and making matters worse. Trying to right his wrongs, Bastian takes the Rain Machine out for a ride, hoping to cause a rain storm, but instead, he inadvertently causes a full blown hurricane. With little time to waste, Bastian must now risk life and limb for his Gnomic friends and travel into the eye of the storm to save the day...as well as his pride.

The story begins with Xayide successfully unearthing two of the three ancient Feeling Stones of Fantasia; purposely removing all the good feelings across the land. Now there is only one left; the Feeling Stone of Hop, and it remains buried in the cave of Ygramul in the Dead Mountains. Bastian asks Falkor to fly him there so he can bargain with the deadly spider in trade for the stone. What Bastian does not realize is that Xayide is waiting outside the cave, ready to take the stone from him. Now her plans to destroy the Ivory Tower are complete. With all HOPE of Fantasia soon to be destroyed, Bastian goes to the Gnomic Forest to find Urgl, whose homemade potions are Bastians only resource to battle wits against Xayide!
Barktroll's Blame

When a fire erupts in the Howling Forest, all eyes cast suspicious blame on Barktroll. With little choice, Barktroll must leave his home in search of a new one. Bastian accompanies him in hopes of finding the evidence that will clear Barktrolls bad reputation. Along the way they meet up with other inhabitants of the Forest including the Lumber Loafers, the Flim Flams, and four Old Geezer Tree Trolls, all of whom offer some pretty strange advice. In the end, our heroes wind up in an unusual neighborhood that provides a new home, new friendship, and the clue to who the arsonist of the Howling Forest really is!

When Barktroll is jealous of Bastians newly formed friendship with an interesting character name Axin, he goes to all limits to prove he is the better friend. Ultimately, the trio is forced to trek to the top of Fire Mountain in search of the infamous Gub Gub bird, who stole Axins gift (thanks to Barktrolls negligence). After many failed attempts to win over Bastians attention, Barktroll finally leaves, feeling unwanted. Its not long afterwards that Axin reveals his true colours to Bastian as a co-conspirator of Xayides, helping to lure Bastian into her trap. Bastian realizes that he turned his back on his only real friend...and now its too late!
