Oban Star Racers is a thrilling animated series that premiered on Toon Disney in 2006. The show follows the journey of Eva Wei, a teenage girl from Earth who discovers that she is the chosen pilot for her planet in the ultimate racing competition in the universe, the Great Race of Oban.

Eva's mother, Maya Wei, was once a renowned star racer who disappeared during the race when Eva was just a child. Now, years later, Eva discovers that her mother's disappearance may have been linked to the race and that she has been chosen to represent Earth in the competition.

With the help of her new alien friends, Eva sets off on a dangerous journey across the galaxy, competing against other pilots from various planets in challenging and high-speed races. Along the way, Eva encounters numerous obstacles and challenges, but her determination and skill in piloting her ship, the Earth team's Whizzing Arrow III, help her overcome them.

As the competition progresses, Eva learns more about the true nature of the race and the forces behind it. She must also confront her own fears and doubts about her abilities as a pilot and her relationship with her other teammates on the Earth team.

The series features a diverse cast of characters from different planets, each with their own unique personalities and abilities. Eva's closest allies are her mechanic and confidant, Jordan C. Wilde, and the enigmatic alien pilot Aikka, who becomes her rival and friend throughout the competition.

Canaletto is free, and in order to stop him from destroying everything that "interferes with destiny," as he says, the remaining racers team up to stop him. Canaletto releases his fury, and it's up to one racer to sacrifice themself to save the galaxy and stop Canaletto.

After discovering the reality of the Ultimate Prize, Kross goes on a rampage and takes all of the racers down in the final race. Eva is the only one who stands against him in his path to victory.

Nothing is clear to Eva anymore. Personally, she doesn't see why she would want to race anymore, since she is unable to revive her mother because of what the Ultimate Prize's nature reveals. The finals continue as the Earth Team has finally begun to catch up in the rankings. They soon face a bug racer, whose quest for the Ultimate Prize may not be so different from Molly's. Meanwhile, Don Wei is still haunted at the possibility that Molly may very well be his long-forgotten daughter Eva, and how such a possibility could effect the purpose of why they're racing in the first place.
