A small town in Maine, Storybrooke, has the most intriguing occupants who are actually characters from various fairy tales that were cursed and transported to the real world by the evil queen. This show is about their adventures and struggles to get back to their own worlds.

In Once Upon a Time season 4 episode 14, named "Unforgiven," the focus is on Mary Margaret, aka Snow White, and David, aka Prince Charming. A mysterious thief comes to Storybrooke and starts stealing valuable possessions from Mary Margaret and David, which she has been collecting over the years. But the thief has an intimate connection with the couple's past, and they are forced to confront their dark history.

The episode is divided into two parallel storylines that dovetail beautifully at the end. In the first storyline, viewers watch Mary Margaret and David as they try to figure out the identity of the thief and the reason behind her obsession with the couple's past. They are aided by Regina, Emma, and Hook. In the second storyline, the viewers get to see the couple's backstory, which takes place soon after they defeated the Evil Queen and moved in together in the Enchanted Forest.

The episode opens with Mary Margaret realizing that her jewelry box has been ransacked. David notices that his sword is missing, and so is the troll's blood that they were saving as a contingency. The thief has left behind a single feather, which is a clear indication that Maleficent, their old nemesis, is somehow involved. Regina, who is still holding a grudge against Mary Margaret and David, joins forces to help resolve the issue.

In the flashback, Mary Margaret and David are living together in a cozy cabin. They are madly in love but fraught with doubts and apprehensions. David is still in the thrall of his secret relationship with Maleficent, which he has kept hidden from Mary Margaret. One day, a mysterious man, Bo Peep, contacts them, demanding payment for a debt that David had incurred long ago. The couple is broke, and so Mary Margaret makes a deal with Bo Peep to work on her farm in exchange for the debt.

The present-day storyline moves on as Mary Margaret and David realize that they need Robin Hood's help to find the thief. They track her down to a mysterious cabin, where they find evidence of her connection to Maleficent. Regina uses her magic to reveal the thief's identity. It is revealed that the thief is none other than Ursula, the villainous mermaid who had made a pact with Regina to regain her singing voice.

In the flashback, Bo Peep keeps raising the bar on her demands until Mary Margaret finally has to steal gold from King Midas' castle to pay her off. David is appalled by her actions and decides to come clean about his relationship with Maleficent. Mary Margaret is heartbroken and leaves David, taking the blame for everything that has gone wrong in their relationship. As she walks away, she is captured by Bo Peep, who has now turned into a heartless shepherd.

In the present, after Regina's magic reveal, Ursula admits that she is trying to find a way to restore her voice and using Mary Margaret and David's secrets to blackmail them. Regina tries to negotiate with Ursula, offering her help in restoring her voice in exchange for her cooperation. Ursula seems to relent but turns the tables on Regina and steals Ursula's Trident.

In the flashback, Mary Margaret realizes that Bo Peep has enchanted her cane, which she needs to control her sheep. Bo Peep wants her to reveal the location of the stolen gold, but Mary Margaret refuses. Bo Peep then orders her sheep to attack Mary Margaret, but David arrives in the nick of time to save her. Together they fight Bo Peep and her army of flying monkeys, with Mary Margaret using her cane as a weapon. In the end, they manage to defeat Bo Peep and her army and take back the gold.

In the present day, Ursula uses her trident to summon her father, Poseidon. Regina, Mary Margaret, and David are taken aback by the arrival of the god of the sea. Ursula tells her father about her betrayal by Regina and then rips out her own voice and gives it to her father as a gift. He then banishes her to the real world. Regina, Mary Margaret, and David return to Storybrooke, where they learn about Ursula's fate and the part they played in it.

The episode ends on an emotional note as Mary Margaret and David finally confront their past and confess their secrets to each other. They forgive each other and reaffirm their love, ending the episode on a positive note.

Overall, Once Upon a Time season 4 episode 14, "Unforgiven," is a well-crafted episode with a strong focus on character development and backstory. It blends the past and the present seamlessly to create a cohesive storyline. The performances by the cast are excellent, and the visuals are stunning. Fans of the show will enjoy this episode, which adds depth to the characters and moves the narrative forward.
