Ep 10. Wish You Were Here

Mr. Gold and Belle team up to save their son, Gideon, from the Black Fairy. The episode begins with Emma Swan and Regina Mills in the former’s bedchamber discussing Gideon’s kidnapping. Emma is worried about Gideon, believing that he’s a lost cause, but Regina is more optimistic and encourages Emma to keep hope.

Meanwhile, Mr. Gold barges into the Diner and demands that Emma find his son. Emma is confused, but Mr. Gold explains that the Black Fairy has taken Gideon so as to turn him evil. Just then, Belle enters the Diner and begs Mr. Gold to help her. She asks him if he can remove the enchantments the Black Fairy has placed on their son’s heart so that he can be brought back to the side of good. Mr. Gold is hesitant, believing that such a feat may be impossible.

Emma suggests that the trio should work together to rescue Gideon. Regina is skeptical of this idea, given Mr. Gold’s past treachery, but she ultimately agrees. The four of them come up with a plan to separate the Black Fairy from her son so that they can bring him back to the light side.

As they travel through the forest, they find themselves in a magical world devoid of people.

They eventually come across Pinocchio, who has been languishing all by himself in this world. When they tell him about their mission, he confesses that he knows where the Black Fairy is keeping Gideon. Regina and Emma are suspicious of Pinocchio’s intentions, but Belle believes that he’s telling the truth.

When they reach the Black Fairy’s castle, they’re immediately confronted by her henchmen. During the ensuing brawl, Mr. Gold manages to retrieve Gideon, but the Black Fairy captures Belle. Having lost his son once before, Mr. Gold is determined not to let that happen again and recruits Pinocchio’s help to track down Belle.

They eventually find the Black Fairy and confront her, but Mr. Gold is unable to defeat her on his own. Just as all seems lost, Emma remembers something about the enchanted object that the Black Fairy has used against the Spell of Shattered Sight.

Using this knowledge, they’re able to shatter the enchantment and rescue Belle. With Gideon back on their side, they return to the real world and celebrate their victory.

As they return to Storybrooke, Mr. Gold and Belle are finally able to put their past behind them and focus on their family. Gideon, having been saved from the Black Fairy’s clutches, is a changed man and swears never to lose sight of the light again.

Once Upon a Time season 6 episode 10, “Wish You Were Here,” is a thrilling adventure that showcases the importance of hope and teamwork in the face of overwhelming odds. With brilliant performances from its ensemble cast and a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat, this is an episode that’s not to be missed.
