Ep 9. The Mitigation of Competition

In the ninth episode of Orphan Black's fourth season, entitled The Mitigation of Competition, the various clones that have taken center stage throughout the show's run continue to face new challenges as they try to uncover the truth behind their existences and the sinister organization that created them.

As always, the clone club is in danger from all sides - from rogue clones working for the enemy, to the people they thought were their greatest allies. The group is forced to make some tough decisions and form unexpected alliances in order to stay alive and protect their loved ones.

In The Mitigation of Competition, we see Sarah (Tatiana Maslany) fighting to recover from a recent injury, while she simultaneously works with Mrs. S (Maria Doyle Kennedy) and Kendall Malone (Alison Steadman) in an effort to get more information on Castor's disease. Meanwhile, Cosima (also played by Maslany) and Charlotte (Cynthia Galant) work to decipher a cryptic clue that could lead them closer to unlocking the secrets of the cloning procedure.

As the episode unfolds, we see Rachel (Maslany) continuing to try and claw her way back to power within Project Leda, while Helena (also Maslany) confronts a terrifying new enemy who poses a lethal threat to her unborn children. Alison (you guessed it - Maslany again) has her own set of problems to deal with, as she attempts to schedule a campaign rally for her run for school trustee. The only problem? A small-time drug dealer keeps getting in her way.

Throughout The Mitigation of Competition, the tension is palpable and the stakes are higher than ever. As the different clones navigate their various obstacles, we see just how far they're willing to go to protect themselves, each other, and the world at large from the dark forces that seek to control them.

Ultimately, The Mitigation of Competition is a thrilling and complex episode that showcases the multiple talents of Tatiana Maslany as she brings to life a host of different characters, each with their own unique dilemmas and struggles.
