Ep 3. Pitch Black

Tia Torres and her team at Villalobos Rescue Center are back on the animal rescue and rehabilitation mission with a new episode of Pit Bulls and Parolees. In season 5, episode 3 titled "Pitch Black," we follow Torres and her crew as they face one of their most challenging cases yet.

The episode begins with Hurricane Isaac hitting Louisiana, causing flooding and damage to the state. Villalobos Rescue Center jumps into action, rescuing as many animals as possible, including a litter of newborn pit bull puppies and their mother. In addition to their animal rescue efforts, Villalobos also focuses on helping parolees. In this episode, Torres works with a new parolee, Randy, who has been released from prison after serving time for drug possession. Randy struggles to adjust to life outside of prison, but finds solace in working with the dogs at Villalobos.

The episode ends with the Villalobos team receiving a call about a pit bull found in a trash can. When they arrive on the scene, they discover that the dog is blind. Torres and her team are determined to help the dog, whom they name "Pitch Black," and work to get him the medical attention he needs. Despite the dog's blindness, he is sweet and loving, and the team works to find him a forever home where he will be loved and cared for.
