In a shocking turn of events, we see that Helen is also a part of the same police force Jane works at.

While trying to keep her personal life separate from her professional one, Jane is called to a murder scene. An Asian woman is found dead in her apartment, and the case leads Jane and her team to a local massage parlor that is suspected of illegal activity. The case becomes more complex when it is discovered that the victim was a heroin addict.

Jane has to navigate through the obstacles presented by the massage parlor's owner and the language barrier due to the majority of the workers being Chinese. With the help of her colleague, Matt, they uncover some crucial evidence as they dig deeper into the case.

Meanwhile, Jane's personal life continues to unravel as she finds out that her husband has moved out and is demanding half the value of their home. She is struggling to juggle her responsibilities at work and her emotional turmoil at home which is made worse by the actions of a sleazy detective.

As the investigation progresses, the evidence points to a suspect that has connections to the victim's family. However, Jane is not convinced and continues to let her intuition guide her. She shares her theory with the team, but as they have limited evidence, it becomes an uphill battle.

As the story comes to a climax, Jane's determination pays off as she manages to tie together all the loose threads and uncover the truth behind the murder case.
