Primetime was an Emmy award-winning news magazine show that aired on ABC from 1989 to 2012. The show was hosted by veteran and renowned journalists Andy Rooney, Mike Wallace, and Ed Bradley. Each episode was divided into segments, covering a wide range of topics, including politics, crime, health, and entertainment.

One of the main features of the show was its investigative journalism. The journalists would delve deep into controversial issues, uncovering stories and providing a platform for people to share their experiences. For example, the show covered issues such as the use of steroids in baseball, the sexual abuse scandal in the Catholic Church, and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Another hallmark of Primetime was its interviews. The hosts would sit down with a wide range of people, from celebrities to politicians to regular citizens with extraordinary stories. Their interviews were often notable for their depth and insight, as well as their ability to humanize their subjects. For example, in one show, Ed Bradley interviewed Michael Jackson, giving viewers a rare glimpse into the pop star's life and exposing some of the difficulties he faced.

Primetime also had a number of recurring segments. One of the most popular was "A Few Minutes with Andy Rooney," in which Rooney would offer his take on a variety of topics, from politics to popular culture, often with a humorous edge. Another popular segment was "The Ambush," in which the hosts would confront people accused of wrongdoing, such as scam artists or corrupt officials.

Over the years, Primetime underwent some changes. In 2005, the show was rebranded as Primetime Live, with new hosts joining the team. However, the original hosts continued to play a prominent role in the show. Additionally, in 2009, the show underwent another rebranding as Primetime: What Would You Do?, focusing on social experiments and hidden camera scenarios that examined how people reacted to certain situations.

Throughout its run, Primetime was widely regarded as one of the top news magazine shows on television. Its journalists were respected for their depth of knowledge and their ability to tell compelling stories. The show won numerous awards, including several Emmys and a Peabody Award.

Sadly, all the original hosts of Primetime have since passed away. Andy Rooney died in 2011 at the age of 92, Mike Wallace in 2012 at the age of 93, and Ed Bradley in 2006 at the age of 65. However, their contributions to television journalism and their impact on the industry will not be forgotten. Primetime remains a testament to their legacy, showcasing their abilities as storytellers and journalists.

Primetime is a series that is currently running and has 24 seasons (173 episodes). The series first aired on September 1, 2010.
