Raising The Bar is an American legal drama television series that aired on TNT from September 1, 2008, to December 24, 2009. The plot revolves around the lives of a group of young lawyers, judges, and law school students who experience personal and professional upheavals while dealing with interesting legal cases in an inner-city court in New York City.

The first episode of the series, Pilot, introduces the viewers to a group of young lawyers at the New York City Public Defender's Office. Jerry Kellerman (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) is a confident and intelligent public defender who fights for the underprivileged and downtrodden. Jerry is articulate and charismatic, and he is determined to make a difference in the lives of his clients.

Jerry's best friend is Bobbi (Natalia Cigliuti), a lawyer who also works at the Public Defender's Office. Bobbi is sharp and focused, but she is also conflicted when it comes to her job. She wants to help her clients, but she also knows that she can only do so much within the constraints of the criminal justice system.

The episode also introduces us to Richard Patrick Woolsley (Teddy Sears), a prosecutor who went to law school with Jerry and Bobbi. Richard is wealthy and arrogant, and he looks down on the public defenders, thinking that they are inferior to him and his fellow prosecutors.

Jerry and Bobbi are given a high-profile case involving a teenage boy who has been accused of killing another teenager during a gang fight. Jerry is determined to prove that his client is innocent, but he faces several obstacles along the way. The evidence against his client is overwhelming, and the judge in the case is no friend of the public defenders.

Meanwhile, Richard is given a case involving a wealthy businessman who has been accused of molesting his teenage daughter. Richard is eager to win the case, and he will stop at nothing to get a conviction.

As Jerry and Bobbi work on their case, they must also deal with personal issues that threaten to distract them from their work. Jerry's girlfriend, Michelle (Melissa Sagemiller), is a law student who is working as an intern at the District Attorney's Office. Michelle is ambitious and idealistic, but she is also conflicted when it comes to her relationship with Jerry.

Bobbi, on the other hand, is dealing with a personal crisis involving her estranged father. She has not seen her father in years, and she must confront her feelings about him when he shows up unexpectedly at her office.

Overall, Pilot is an engaging and intense introduction to the world of Raising The Bar. The episode sets up several storylines that will play out over the course of the season, and it introduces us to a compelling cast of characters who will keep us entertained and engaged throughout the series. The first episode of Raising The Bar is a promising start to a compelling legal drama that explores the complexities of the criminal justice system and the personal lives of those who work within it.
