ReGenesis is a Canadian television drama series that aired on the Science Channel from 2004 to 2008. The show explores the world of biotechnology and the potential consequences that can arise from the unchecked manipulation of genetic material. The series follows the daily activities of the fictional North American Biotechnology Advisory Commission (NORBAC) as they strive to prevent and manage outbreaks of disease, bioterrorism, and environmental catastrophes caused by scientific experiments gone wrong.

The story is seen through the eyes of lead scientist David Sandstrom, who is played by Peter Outerbridge. Sandstrom is a brilliant geneticist and biochemist who is dedicated to finding solutions to some of the world's most pressing problems. He is appointed as the Director of the NORBAC facility and is responsible for leading the team of scientists, technicians, and support staff who work there. Driven by his passion for science and his deep sense of compassion for humanity, Sandstrom is seen as a maverick by some of his peers, but he is committed to creating a better world for everyone.

Caroline Morrison, played by Maxim Roy, is Sandstrom's right-hand woman in the lab. She is a microbiologist and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the lab's operations. Morrison is equally bright and passionate about her work, but she is also much more grounded and pragmatic than Sandstrom. This creates an interesting dynamic between the two characters, as they have very different approaches to problem-solving.

Carlos Serrano, portrayed by Conrad Pla, is the chief of security for the NORBAC facility. He is a former SWAT team member and is responsible for ensuring that the lab is secure from threats both external and internal. Serrano is a tough, no-nonsense kind of guy who is excellent at his job, but he is also deeply committed to his colleagues and friends at the lab. He is a loyal and dependable ally to Sandstrom and the rest of the team.

Mayko Tran, played by Mayko Nguyen, is a forensic pathologist who is brought in to examine the aftermath of bioterrorist attacks and other biological incidents. A tough and savvy investigator, Tran is skilled at piecing together the evidence to determine the source of the problem. She is also a bit of a rebel and has a tendency to push back against authority when she believes that they are wrong.

Rachel Woods, played by Wendy Crewson, is the Director of the NORBAC facility. She is a powerful and intelligent woman who is skilled at navigating the complex political landscape of science and politics. Woods is instrumental in securing funding and support for the lab's work, but she is also committed to ensuring that the work is done ethically and safely. She is a mentor to Sandstrom and is always looking out for his best interests.

Bob Melnikov, portrayed by Dmitry Chepovetsky, is a young and ambitious scientist who is hired by NORBAC to work in the lab. He is brilliant but also a bit impulsive and reckless, which sometimes causes problems for the team. Melnikov is seen as a bit of a wild card by the rest of the team, but Sandstrom sees his potential and is committed to guiding him to become a more responsible scientist.

Weston Field, played by Greg Bryk, is a wealthy entrepreneur who is interested in funding NORBAC's research. He is a bit of a rogue character who is often at odds with Sandstrom and the rest of the team. Field is willing to take risks and make shady deals to get what he wants, which makes him a dangerous ally to have.

Hira Khan, portrayed by Mishu Vellani, is a bioethicist who explores the moral and ethical issues raised by the lab's work. She is keenly aware of the risks posed by the manipulation of genetic material and works tirelessly to ensure that the lab's work is done in an ethical and responsible manner. Khan is a valuable voice of reason on the team, and she helps to keep everyone grounded in the face of some of the more outrageous experiments that they undertake.

Jill Langston, played by Sarah Strange, is a journalist who is interested in exposing the darker side of NORBAC's work. She is a persistent and determined investigator who is willing to push boundaries to get the story. Langston is both a friend and a foe to the team, and she often forces them to think more deeply about the ethical implications of their work.

In conclusion, ReGenesis is a thrilling and thought-provoking drama that explores the complex and sometimes dangerous world of biotechnology. The show's talented cast of actors brings their characters to life in a way that is both entertaining and engaging, and the show's storylines are diverse, exciting, and sometimes a little bit scary. With its focus on science, ethics, and politics, ReGenesis is a show that will both entertain and inform viewers as they delve into the mysteries of the genetic code.
