Elsewhere in the episode, Monroe is trying to find Aaron, who he believes has the knowledge to fix the power restoration device. He sends a woman named Jessica to track him down. After arriving at the Georgia town, Jessica begins to track down Aaron.

As the episode progresses, tensions rise between the rebels and the Matheson family as they try to work together to take down the Monroe Republic. But the mission becomes complicated when they discover that the train they're targeting has children on board. They ultimately decide to divert the train to a different track and take control of the supplies.

In the end, there are a few surprises in store for the characters. The episode ends with a cliffhanger, which sets up the next episode's plotline. While it may not be as action-packed as some other episodes, "The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia" does an excellent job of developing characters and furthering the plot while keeping the audience engaged.
