Richard Roeper & The Movies is the title of Richard Roeper’s film criticism television show. Previously, Roeper was involved in similar shows titled Ebert & Roeper and Ebert & Roeper at the Movies. Richard Roeper & The Movies began airing in 2010 on the Starz channel with later episodes airing on both Starz and Reelz.
In 2006 Roger Ebert was diagnosed with cancer, leaving Ebert and Roeper with a hard decision concerning the fate of their show Ebert & Roeper, which was popularly referred to afterward as At the Movies. At the Movies ran until 2010, but Roeper branched away from the show to create Richard Roeper & The Movies in January 2010. Earlier reviews of Richard Roeper & The Movies are only available in text format.
As Ebert’s health failed Roeper continued his own show while Ebert focused on written reviews. A typical episode of Richard Roeper & The Movies lasts approximately two minutes and covers a single film. Films are rated A through F, with variances of pluses and minuses to further distinguish differences.
