Robin Hood is a British television drama series produced by the BBC that ran from 2006 to 2009. The show is a retelling of the classic tale of Robin Hood, a legendary outlaw who robs from the rich to give to the poor. The series follows Robin of Locksley, played by Jonas Armstrong, as he returns from the Crusades to find his homeland oppressed by tyranny and corruption. He decides to take up arms against the Sheriff of Nottingham, played by Keith Allen, and his henchman, Guy of Gisborne, played by Richard Armitage.

The show takes place in 12th century England, in the town of Nottingham and the surrounding Sherwood Forest. Robin is initially introduced as a selfish and arrogant young man, but after witnessing the injustice inflicted upon the people by the Sheriff and his men, he becomes a heroic figure who puts his own life on the line to protect the innocent.

Robin is joined on his quest by a band of loyal followers, including his childhood friend Much, played by Sam Troughton, the skilled archer Will Scarlet, played by Harry Lloyd, and the brave warrior Little John, played by Gordon Kennedy. Together, they form a group known as the Merry Men, and they spend their time robbing the Sheriff's men and distributing the wealth to the poor and needy.

Along the way, Robin becomes romantically involved with Maid Marian, played by Lucy Griffiths, who was a childhood friend and is now a noblewoman. Marian is a strong and independent character who is also determined to fight against the injustices in her society. The relationship between Robin and Marian is a central plot point of the series, as they must navigate the dangers of their outlaw lifestyle while also trying to pursue their love for each other.

The villains of the show are the Sheriff and Guy of Gisborne, who are both portrayed as sadistic and corrupt. The Sheriff is a cunning and manipulative figure who uses any means necessary to maintain his power, while Guy of Gisborne is a skilled warrior who is also haunted by his past. The show explores the motivations and backstories of these characters, which adds depth to their roles and creates a sense of moral complexity.

Aside from the main characters, the show also features a diverse cast of supporting characters, including David Harewood as a Saracen warrior named Tuck, William Beck as an apothecary named Roy, Anjali Jay as a blind woman named Djaq who is also a skilled engineer, and Lara Pulver as a seductive spy named Isabella.

The show also includes a lot of action and adventure, with Robin and his followers engaging in daring raids and battles against the Sheriff's forces. The fight scenes are well-choreographed and thrilling to watch, and the show also incorporates elements of humor and romance.

Overall, Robin Hood is an engaging and entertaining series that puts a fresh spin on a classic tale. The characters are well-developed and the plot is full of twists and turns that keep the audience engaged. The show also has a strong political and social message about the importance of fighting against injustice and standing up for what is right, which resonates with audiences to this day.

Robin Hood is a series that is currently running and has 3 seasons (115 episodes). The series first aired on October 7, 2006.
