Run house is an television show based on Hip hop legend and icon Reverend Joseph "Run" Simmons and his family. During its time on the air it spent most of its time during MTV's prime time line ups. This programs showcases the different aspects of the family including interactions between the Reverend Run and his wife Justine as well as his children. He has six children(Vanessa,Angela, Joseph Jr., Daniel, Russell and Miley). Rev Run's oldest children(Vanessa and Angela) eventually leave the house and go on to live on their own.

Each member of the family adds to the dynamic of the entire family and all have their own ventures surrounding music and fashion. Alongside Reverend Run's nuclear family, his brothers(Russell Simmons and Daniel Simmons)as play reoccurring characters in the shows development.

Within the show the dynamics of different subjects are covered such as: death, child birth, drugs, starting a clothing line, graduation and love. At the end of every show Rev Run always unites the family together so they can bond during whatever turbulence took place during the show. In one episode Justine endures the pains and struggles of losing a child and the family comes together to comfort and support her.

Before the credits are shown Reverend Run is always shown taking a bubble bath while he is writing his "Words of Wisdom" to the audience. The words of wisdom usually come from the happenings of the show and double as advice for viewers. These words of wisdom can also be accessed from Rev Run's twitter or tumblr page,for future perusal.
