Watch: Unaired 'Saturday Night Live' Sketch Skewers Netflix Apology

Watch: Unaired 'Saturday Night Live' Sketch Skewers Netflix Apology OK, so the fiasco involving Netflix jacking up the cost for combined DVD rental by mail and instant online streaming from $10 per month to a total of $16 is somewhat of a First-World problem.

That doesn't mean it isn't entertainment news worth a good "Saturday Night Live" skewering.

This sketch didn't air this past Saturday night, but it's made its way to NBC.com for the viewing enjoyment of one and all. Really, it's worth watching. This truly has been the most unapologetic apology in the long history of issuing a "Mea culpa" for doing something really, really stupid.

To paraphrase, it's gone something like this: "We know what you love about Netflix. We know what made you become a Netflix subscriber. Though we're ignoring your backlash, your cancellations and our falling stock prices by going through with changing everything you love about us despite our objections, know that we're really, really sorry. To make up for it, please enjoy this doubly complicated business model that really doesn't improve a single thing."

Ultimately, it's almost a plea: Netflix, for the love of God, stop doing us favors.
