In Saturday Night Live's 37th season, episode 7, Jason Segel, star of various films including "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and "How I Met Your Mother," takes the stage as host, while Florence + The Machine bring their musical talents to the show. The episode kicks off with an opening sketch that pokes fun at the ongoing Occupy Wall Street movement, as two protesters attempt to explain their cause to financial news anchor Maria Bartiromo.

Following the monologue, Segel appears in a series of sketches, including "Kemper Pedic Bed Commercial," which features Segel and Kristen Wiig as a couple testing out a bed that may be too comfortable. Other memorable sketches include a parody of the hit television show "The New Girl," in which Segel takes on the role of Jess' (played by Zooey Deschanel) new love interest, and "Andre the Giant Chooses an Ice Cream Flavor," a hilarious take on the wrestler's larger-than-life persona.

Musical guest Florence + The Machine delivers two electrifying performances, first with their hit song "Shake It Out," and later with "No Light, No Light," both from their album, "Ceremonials." During the latter performance, frontwoman Florence Welch is joined on stage by a group of backup dancers, adding to the already impressive spectacle.

As usual, the "Weekend Update" segment, anchored by Seth Meyers, provides plenty of laughs with topical jokes about current events. This week's guests include Gov. Rick Perry (played by Bill Hader) discussing his failed presidential campaign, and Michael Bloomberg (played by Fred Armisen) addressing the recent cancellation of the New York City marathon.

In a nod to the holiday season, several sketches center around Thanksgiving. In "The Vogelchecks' Thanksgiving," the Segel plays a member of a rowdy family gathering for the holiday, while Wiig is the hostess trying to keep things under control. Another sketch, "The Lonely Island's Thanksgiving," features the comedy group, led by Andy Samberg, singing about their unique holiday traditions.

To close out the show, Segel and the cast perform a lively musical number called "Drunk Uncle Christmas," in which they all wear festive Christmas sweaters and sing about the ups and downs of the holiday season.

Overall, Saturday Night Live's season 37, episode 7 delivers a solid lineup of sketches and musical performances, making for a fun and entertaining evening of television.
