Ep 21. The Bottle Deposit (1)

Jerry, Kramer, and Newman hatch a plan to make money by collecting discarded bottles and cans in Michigan where a 10-cent deposit is applied. Jerry and Kramer devise a plot to rent a mail truck and drive it to Michigan to collect as many bottles and cans as possible.

Meanwhile, George quits his job with the New York Yankees after getting into an altercation with the team's owner George Steinbrenner. This leads him to pursue a new job opportunity that involves selling computers at a playground equipment company.

Elaine's boyfriend Puddy reveals that he is a devoted Detroit Red Wings fan, causing a rift in their relationship as Elaine is a New York Rangers fan. They decide to bet on their respective teams in the upcoming playoffs, but things quickly go awry.

As Jerry, Kramer, and Newman make their way to Michigan, their plan begins to unravel as they struggle to find a place to store the thousands of bottles and cans they've collected. They eventually hatch a new plan involving a Michigan recycling center, but run into trouble when a local resident catches on to their scheme.

Back in New York, George's new job proves to be a disaster as he struggles to make a single sale. He eventually resorts to using his charm to woo a prospective client, but his plan backfires when he accidentally insults the man's daughter.

As the Rangers and Red Wings face off in the playoffs, Elaine and Puddy's bet takes a surprising turn when they both end up attending the same playoff game.

The episode culminates with a tense standoff between Jerry, Kramer, Newman, and the Michigan resident who has caught onto their bottle deposit scheme. Will they be caught and forced to face the consequences of their actions, or will they make a clean getaway with their ill-gotten gains?
