Sense8 is a sci-fi drama series created by the Wachowski siblings and J. Michael Straczynski for Netflix. The show focuses on eight strangers from different parts of the world who suddenly find themselves connected mentally and emotionally. They are each born on the same day and share a psychic connection that allows them to see, hear, and feel what the others do. As they come to terms with their newfound connection, they discover that they have a greater purpose and must fight to survive against those who seek to destroy them.

The show begins with the eight characters, or Sensates, sensing each other's presence and being momentarily transported to each other's locations. We are introduced to each Sensate one by one, starting with Will Gorski (Brian J. Smith), a police officer in Chicago who is investigating a lead on a drug ring. Meanwhile, Riley Blue (Tuppence Middleton), a DJ in London, is haunted by flashbacks of her past. Sun Bak (Bae Doona) is a businesswoman in Seoul, who is also secretly training to be a kickboxer. Wolfgang Bogdanow (Max Riemelt) is a safecracker in Berlin who is part of a powerful criminal organization. Lito Rodriguez (Miguel Ángel Silvestre) is an actor in Mexico City, who is hiding his sexuality from his fans. Kala Dandekar (Tina Desai) is a pharmacist in Mumbai who is about to get married. Capheus Onyango (Aml Ameen) is a bus driver in Nairobi who is trying to raise money to buy AIDS medication for his sick mother. Finally, there is Nomi Marks (Jamie Clayton), a hacktivist and blogger in San Francisco, who is also a trans woman.

As the show progresses, the Sensates become more and more connected, and their powers begin to grow stronger. They can communicate with each other even when they are not physically present, and they share each other's thoughts and feelings. They also learn that they are being hunted down by a mysterious organization called BPO, which wants to capture and study them. Led by the enigmatic Jonas Maliki (Naveen Andrews), the Sensates must band together to try to stop BPO and figure out why they are connected in the first place.

One of the most notable aspects of Sense8 is its diverse cast of characters, both in terms of race and sexuality. The show explores themes of identity, family, and love, as well as the politics of self-determination and individuality. It also delves into issues of mental health, trauma, and the human capacity for empathy.

In addition to its deep themes, Sense8 is also known for its breathtaking visuals and exciting action scenes. The show has been praised for its innovative cinematography, which seamlessly blends together the different locations and perspectives of the Sensates. It also features some impressive fight choreography and stunts, particularly in its second season.

Sense8 is a truly unique and ambitious series that pushes the boundaries of what is possible in television. It takes viewers on a thrilling journey across the world, exploring the lives and experiences of eight different people who are brought together by their psychic connection. If you are a fan of sci-fi or drama, Sense8 is definitely a show to check out.
