Ep 5. Rite of Passage

In the fifth season of Shameless, the Gallagher family continues to face their fair share of challenges. Episode 5, titled "Rite of Passage," focuses on the coming-of-age story of Carl Gallagher.

Elsewhere in Chicago, the rest of the Gallagher clan is dealing with their own problems. Lip is struggling with his college coursework and Kelly's alcoholism, and Ian is trying to find a new sense of purpose after leaving the military.

As always, the show's trademark mix of humor and heartbreak is on full display in "Rite of Passage." The episode explores the complex relationships between the Gallagher siblings and their various struggles to find their place in the world.
