Frank tries to reconnect with his estranged children, but his attempts are met with resistance and anger. Meanwhile, Fiona struggles to balance her new job with her responsibilities as guardian of her siblings. As the family grapples with issues of race, sex, and class, they must also confront their own demons and find a way to support each other in the face of adversity.
