Skin is an American television drama series that aired on the Ovation network from 2003 to 2005. It revolved around the lives of two families, one from the upper middle class and the other a working-class family, whose children fall in love despite their parents' disapproval.

The series stars Ron Silver as Larry Goldman, an ambitious pornographer who owns an adult film studio, and Kevin Anderson as Jerry Stein, a successful attorney who sits on the opposite side of the law as he takes on cases that aim to shut down pornographic operations like Goldman's. Rachel Ticotin co-stars as Laura Roam, a detective who works with Stein in his efforts to bring down Goldman's enterprise.

The show explores the complex relationships between the characters and how their personal and professional lives are interconnected. At the center of the story is the love affair between Adam (D.J. Cotrona), the son of Goldman, and Jewel (Olivia Wilde), the daughter of Stein. The two teenagers fall in love at first sight and embark on a forbidden relationship that is both scandalous and fraught with danger.

As the two families struggle to come to terms with their children's unconventional love, they also face external pressures that threaten to tear them apart. Laura Roam and Jerry Stein work tirelessly to build their case against Larry Goldman, while at the same time, the families deal with their own personal demons that threaten to destroy their relationships.

One of the central themes of Skin is the idea of morality and how it is perceived differently by different members of society. Goldman sees his pornographic business as a way to provide for his family, while Stein views it as a threat to the morals of society. Through various subplots and storylines, the show explores the impact of pornography on individuals, families, and society as a whole.

The acting in Skin is superb, with Silver and Anderson delivering standout performances as the two men at odds with each other. Ticotin brings a level of toughness to her character, while Wilde and Cotrona deliver convincing performances as the two young lovers caught in the middle of a war between their families.

In addition to its complex characterizations and exploration of morality, Skin is a visually stunning show. The cinematography is beautiful, with scenes shot in various locations throughout Los Angeles, including the beaches of Malibu and the seedy streets of downtown.

Overall, Skin is a well-written and well-acted drama that explores complex themes and features stunning visuals. Its depiction of the adult film industry and its impact on society is both informative and thought-provoking. While it was short-lived, Skin remains a standout among television dramas and is definitely worth a watch.
