Ep 16. What Lies Beneath

In Sleepy Hollow season 2 episode 16, titled "What Lies Beneath," Ichabod Crane and Abbie Mills investigate a series of mysterious deaths that have been occurring in Sleepy Hollow. The deaths seem to be related to a supernatural presence that is haunting a local historic house, the Site of the Founding Family's Home.

Upon arriving at the house, Ichabod and Abbie discover that the property has been closed off to the public. They are met by the standoffish curator, who is reluctant to let the two investigate. Despite this, they persist, and soon discover a ghostly presence lurking in the house.

As they delve deeper into the history of the house, they uncover a dark secret that has been buried for centuries. The Site of the Founding Family's Home was built on the graves of Native American tribes, and their spirits have been awakened by the desecration of their burial grounds.

Ichabod and Abbie race against time to uncover the truth and put the restless spirits to rest before they claim any more innocent lives. Along the way, they encounter a host of supernatural obstacles, including possessed objects and deadly traps.

Meanwhile, Captain Irving continues to struggle with his newfound demonic possession, as Henry Parrish's hold over him grows stronger. Jenny Mills enlists the help of an old friend to uncover the truth about her father's death, and gets more than she bargained for.

As tensions rise and the fate of Sleepy Hollow hangs in the balance, Ichabod and Abbie find themselves pushed to their limits, battling both physical and emotional demons. Will they be able to put the restless spirits to rest and save the town from destruction? Or will the darkness consume them all?
