The Last Of Eden is the twentieth episode of the third season of the science fiction television series Sliders. The episode was first aired on May 2, 1997. The show is about a group of people who travel to different dimensions or alternate universes seeking to find their way home. In each dimension, they encounter different versions of themselves and must navigate dangerous and sometimes strange new worlds.

In this episode, the Sliders find themselves on a world that is a lush paradise with an advanced civilization. The inhabitants of this world called it Eden and it is governed by a strict code of morality. In Eden, all desires are fulfilled, and there is no need for money or work. However, the Sliders soon discover that beneath the seemingly perfect surface, there is a dark secret lurking.

The episode begins with the Sliders, Quinn Mallory, Wade Wells, Rembrandt Brown, and Professor Maximilian Arturo, sliding into a new world. They step out of the vortex and find themselves in a stunning jungle. As they venture deeper into the jungle, they stumble upon an Edenite woman, Selina, fleeing from a group of bandits. The Sliders come to her rescue and take her back to the city of Eden. There they discover that Selina is a member of a secret group of rebels opposing the government's strict moral code.

The Sliders explore the city and find that it is a perfectly maintained paradise, with beautiful gardens and impressive architecture. The people there lead idyllic lives, where there is no crime, poverty, or war. However, when the Sliders learn about Selina's rebel group, they start to question the ruling government's control over their citizens.

The moral rules enforced in Eden include forbidding people from engaging in any sexual activity. Children are brought up in a highly structured educational program and are not even allowed to choose their own clothes. The government also controls every aspect of citizens' lives, from what they eat to who they marry. Selina explains that she is part of a group of rebels fighting for their freedom to live life as they see fit, complete with their own desires and wishes.

The Sliders discover that the leaders of Eden are determined to maintain complete control over its citizens, and anyone who tries to rebel against their moral code is punished severely. Selina uses the group's computer network to hack into the government database and learns that the government has erased all the knowledge of their world's previous inhabitants to create this utopian society.

Back on Earth, the Sliders lived in a world full of chaos, and they had to fight for their survival every day. However, on this world, they find themselves in a peaceful and organized society, albeit one where personal freedoms are restricted. The Sliders debate the pros and cons of living in a highly structured utopia versus a more chaotic but free society.

As the episode progresses, the Sliders find themselves drawn into the rebels' cause, and they begin to help them in their struggle against the government. They must overcome various challenges and obstacles and find a way to sabotage the government's imposing control over their citizens.

The Last Of Eden is an intriguing episode of Sliders that explores the theme of living in a utopian society. It asks the question, "Is living in a society that restricts personal freedoms and desires worth sacrificing for the sake of security and order?" The episode's plot is well-developed and raises important questions that are thought-provoking. It is worth watching for fans of sci-fi TV, especially those who enjoy exploring alternate realities.
