On the thirteenth episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation season 1, appropriately titled "Angel One," the crew of the Enterprise-D comes across a planet named Angel One which is ruled by women and follows a matriarchal society. The planet is abundant in natural resources and has an advanced technology level, so the Enterprise is sent to establish trade relations.

Upon beaming down to the planet, the away team led by Commander Riker is surprised to find out that the society is still heavily gender biased and men are treated as second-class citizens. The leader of the planet, Beata, demands that all the male crew members be sent back to the Enterprise immediately, which puts the crew in a difficult position since they need to establish trade relations with the planet.

Meanwhile, Riker discovers a group of men who have formed a rebellion to fight for their rights and are being labelled as terrorists by the government. One of the rebels, Ramsey, catches Tasha Yar's eye, who herself came from a heavily gender-biased society. She sympathizes with his cause and offers to help him and his group escape the planet.

As the crew attempts to negotiate trade relations with the Angel One government, they also try to find a way to help the oppressed male population. Captain Picard decides to make a bold move by arranging a meeting between Beata and the leader of the rebellion, Gendar, hoping that they can come to some sort of agreement.

Meanwhile, the Enterprise comes under threat from a virus that has infected many of the crew members, leading to hallucinations and highly elevated anger levels. Dr. Crusher must find a cure before the crew members turn on each other and the ship becomes unmanageable.

The episode explores themes of gender bias, women's empowerment, and the different ways societies can become discriminatory. It also touches on the importance of diplomacy and the need for compromise in finding solutions to complex problems.

Overall, "Angel One" is a thought-provoking episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation that tackles social issues with a science-fiction twist. It examines how different societies can fall into oppression and discrimination against specific groups, and explores the challenges that come with trying to create a more equitable world.
