Description:

Stop Bullying: Speak Up is an intriguing show with real kids that openly; honestly and bravely speak up about the bulling experiences they have endured. These are everyday stories of American kids who have suffered from bullies. Bullies come in all shapes and sizes; making fun of another person's physical attributes, or how they dress, the way they talk, the way they walk are all examples of bulling. Physical bulling is when someone tries to make another person do something that they know is wrong or will hurt them. Emotional bulling is when a person ignores, or leaves another person out of an activity.

The kids, on Stop Bullying: Speak Up, talk about how bad it hurts to be bullied, they talk about the fear of going to school, of doing poorly in school because of this fear, and of not telling anyone about the bulling for fear that they will get hurt. Bulling can happen anywhere, in school, on the bus, online, cell phones and even at home. These kids, who range in age from 8 to 13 years old, talk about the bulling experience; they also interview others, like their friends, who discuss seeing bulling going on and what can be done to stop it. Sometimes they even talk to the kids who are doing the bulling, to find out why they do it and how they feel.

Stop Bullying: Speak Up gives power to all kids to stop the bulling. It is part of a growing movement in the United States to end bulling. The message that these kids share with the viewers, gives the viewers a chance to see for themselves what bulling is all about. The show offers suggestions on how to handle bulling. Walk away from the bully and find an adult, tell an adult if you see someone getting bullied, offer the person being bullied your friendship or at ask them if they are okay and do they need help. This show, really puts a face to those kids who suffer from being bullied every day, and how to help stop the very real hurt and fear of being bullied.
