Survivor is a reality television show that has become one of the most popular series in the world. The show follows a group of strangers who are left on a deserted island and are forced to fend for themselves without any modern conveniences or comforts. In the first season of the show, appropriately titled "Survivor: Borneo," the episode named "The Marooning" kicked off the series with a bang.

The episode begins with the 16 contestants arriving on the island by boat. They are divided into two tribes - Tagi and Pagong - and are given 60 seconds to grab as much as they can from the boat before it leaves them on the beach. The tribes quickly get to work as they try to gather as many supplies as possible.

Once the boat leaves, the tribes are left to fend for themselves. They quickly set up camp and start to strategize about how they are going to survive on the island. The Tagi tribe is made up of mostly older contestants who are seen as more strategic, while the Pagong tribe is made up of younger, more laid-back contestants.

The first challenge that the tribes are presented with is to gather as much food as possible. The person who gathers the most food for their tribe will win immunity from the first tribal council. The contestants quickly get to work, searching for anything they can find that is edible. Some of them search for fruit, while others try to catch fish or crabs.

Once the challenge is over, it's time for the first tribal council. The tribes gather around a large fire, where they are greeted by host Jeff Probst. Each tribe is given a chance to talk about their experiences on the island so far. The Pagong tribe is seen as a more social group, while the Tagi tribe is seen as a more strategic group.

Before the vote, Probst asks if anyone has a hidden immunity idol. Nobody says anything, and it's time to vote. The votes are tallied, and the person with the most votes is asked to leave the island. The first person to be voted off in "Survivor: Borneo" is a shock to both the viewers and the contestants, and it sets the tone for the rest of the season.

"The Marooning" is a great start to the first season of "Survivor." It introduces the audience to the game and the contestants, and it sets the stage for the rest of the season. The challenges are exciting, and the first tribal council is intense. It's a great start to what would become one of the most iconic reality television shows of all time.
